HOLYOKE

Donald W. Bailly, age 89, of Holyoke, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at his home. He was born in Holyoke, a son of the late Armand W. and Marion (Andrews) Bailly, and was educated in the South Hadley Schools. Don was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War Era and had lived in Holyoke for many years. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #104 for more than 50 years, and had worked for several companies including Holyoke Valve & Hydrant and Harry Grodsky & Company, retiring many years ago. Don was a life member of the Holyoke Lodge of Elks #902, an avid New York Giants and Yankees fan, and enjoyed all youth sports. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. Don is survived by his wife of 64 years, Claire E. (Delisle) Bailly; two sons: Mark S. and his wife Cheryl of Chicopee, and Bruce W. and his wife Therese of South Hadley; one daughter, Sheri L. O’Donnell and her husband James of Easthampton; six grandchildren: Aubri and Cory Bailly, Jake and Grace Bailly, and Shane and Ryan O’Donnell; one brother, Robert Bailly of Holyoke; two sisters: Martha McDonald and MaryAnn O’Connor, both of South Hadley; and many nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by four brothers: Owen, Tex, Edward, and Elmer Bailly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 12th at 10 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. For those not wishing to enter the Church, the Mass will be available via radio broadcast in the parking lot AT 90.9 FM. Burial will follow at Saint Jerome Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452. Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
