Donald Edward Plouffe, 78, of Westfield, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025 with his loving wife by his side. Donald was born in Holyoke, son of the late George and Jeanne (Foisy) Plouffe and was a graduate of Precious Blood High School. He served in the United States Army Reserves before joining the Air Force as a reservist, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Don retired after 38 years from Verizon as a lineman. He was a very kind and compassionate human being. He and his wife Nancy enjoyed travelling many places over the years and more recently spent their vacations in the Berkshires and Ogunquit, Maine watching the ocean. Don was a member of the Holyoke Lodge of Elks #902. He was an avid golfer who played in many local leagues, cheered for the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics, and enjoyed many trips to Fenway Park. He was a big Notre Dame fan and was lucky enough to attend one of their games. Don could also answer any sports question asked of him Don is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years Nancy (Beal) Plouffe; a brother-in-law John Murphy of Kinston, MA; a sister-in-law Lisa Lind of Avon, MA; several nieces and nephews, many friends, and his loving cat Cameo. Sadly, Don was predeceased by his son Justin Plouffe. Committal with military honors will be held for Don on Tuesday December 30 at 9:00am in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Calling hours for Don will take place on Monday December 29 from 3:00 to 5:00pm in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Memorial contributions in memory of Don can be made to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter, 178 Apremont Way, Westfield, MA 01085 or the Westfield Homeless Cat Project, 1124 E.
