HOLYOKE
Edith Marilyn (Robertson) Hefty, age 87, of Holyoke, passed away Saturday December 22, 2018 at Holyoke Medical Center. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Alexander H. and Helena (Marriott) Robertson, and was a 1948 graduate of Holyoke High School and attended O’Connell/Holyoke Business School. Marilyn retired from the Accounts Payable Department at the Shriner’s Hospital, after 13 years, in 1993. She was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Holyoke, and was a member and contributor to many clubs and organizations, including the St. Peter’s Women’s Club, the Forget Me Not Club at the Shriner’s Hospital, Retiree Club of Shriner’s Hospital, Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Order of Scottish Clans (Clan McClaren), and Past Worthy Advisor to the International Order for Rainbow for Girls. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, William P. Hefty in 2001. She is survived by two daughters: Laura H. Guy of South Hadley, Marilyn J. Boudreau and her husband David of South Hadley; a son, William A. Hefty of South Hadley; three grandchildren: Melissa Mertes, Riley Guy, and Kathryn Boudreau; and three great-grandchildren: Megan Gouin, Azria Guy, and Briella Guy. The funeral will be held Friday January 4 at 10:30am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a funeral service in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at 11:00am. Burial will be held in Forestdale Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday January 4 from 9:00 to 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marilyn’s memory to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 34 Jarvis Ave. Holyoke, MA 01040
