Edward F. Amo, 81 of Holyoke, died peacefully on February 14th, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born in Massena NY on August 8th, 1939 to William and Alida (Genaway) Amo, the family moved and settled in this area. Ed would simply like to be remembered as a faithful Catholic, husband, father and grandfather – a true Christian gentleman. He was the long-time owner of Highway Auto Salvage in Northampton. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Rosemary (Downing) of Holyoke, and his four children Fr. Steven Amo, of Feeding Hills, David Amo and his wife Christine of Chicopee, Cindy Alberts and her husband Michael of Woodstock CT and Edward Scott Amo of West Roxbury. He also leaves four grandchildren Michelle Medina, Kelly Huhtanen, Nicholas Amo and Tyler Huhtanen. Calling hours will be on Friday, February 19th from 5 -7 PM at Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 20th at the church. A private burial will follow at the family plot at Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Sacred Heart Church, 1061 Springfield St., Feeding Hills, MA 01030. Barry J.
