Edward Robert Guevin, formerly known as Robert John McEvady, passed away on April 10, 2021 at Valley View Hospice in Cottonwood, Arizona. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late John J. McEvady and Jeannette (Tetreault) McEvady Guevin, and was educated in local schools. Ed worked as a night watchman for many years, and then joined the Air Force in 1972. After his service, Ed moved to Arizona to pursue his desire to work with Native Americans. Besides his parents, Ed was predeceased by a brother, James McEvady. He is survived by his brother, William McEvady of Holyoke; his sister-in-law, Cathy McEvady of Holyoke; his uncle, Roger Tetreault of Gill; and his aunt, Theresa Mascaro of Worthington. Ed also leaves two nephews, Brian McEvady and James McEvady and his wife Andrea; and two nieces, Maureen McEvady and Erin McEvady Narey and her husband Bob Narey, as well as several cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial for Ed at 9:30 am on Wednesday, April 28th at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Committal with military honors will follow at 11 am in the chapel of the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. There are no calling hours and the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
