Edward David Piedra, 56, of Chicopee, died unexpectedly at home surrounded by his family on December 15, 2024. Edward was born in Holyoke, son of Elba Piedra. He completed a Master’s Degree at the University of Connecticut in Software Engineering. Ed had a passion for music, writing and recording his own songs with his band “Second Nature.” Ed loved his job, friends, and family, and was an avid chess player, and loved playing basketball with his daughters. He is survived by his mother, Elba Piedra; his five daughters: Alycia Piedra, Stephanie Piedra, Hannah Piedra, Christina Piedra, and Angelina Piedra; his brother, Michael Piedra and wife Brenda Piedra; their two sons; his nephews: Michael Piedra II and Nicholas Piedra ;and many friends and extended family members. The funeral prayer service will be held on Saturday December 21 at 10:00am in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by burial in Saint Jerome Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday December 20 from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
