Edward “Eddie” S. Scott, 67 , of South Hadley passed away on Thursday, August 21,2025. Born on August 24, 1957, Edward was raised in Holyoke, where he was a graduate of Holyoke High School. He went on to join the United States Navy, and later enlisted in the Air Force Reserves. Edward retired from the Connecticut Department of Corrections where he met the love of his life, his wife of 25 years , Dawn (McAlpine) Besides his wife, Eddie is survived by his four children Benjamin, Adam, Holly, and Abrianna. His siblings-Bambi (Christopher) Massiah, Thomas (Tammy) Scott, Joseph (Maureen) Scott, and Samuel Palmer. Those who loved him most, called him Hoppa and he cherished each and every one of his grandchildren: Mya, Rylee, Adelynn, Winston, Christopher, Benjamin , and Iris. Eddie was also adored by his nieces and nephews as well as his many colleagues from the DOC. Known for his willingness to always lend a hand, Eddie always did so with a smile on his face. His exceptional craftsmanship became a life long hobby that included many projects completed by him and his wife. His laughter and sense of humor (although at times questionable) were two of his greatest qualities. To know Eddie was to love him, and he will be deeply missed by all who were lucky to be a part of his life.

Calling hours for Eddie will be Tuesday, August 26th from 4-7pm at Barry J Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street in Holyoke. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 27th at 9:45am in the funeral home followed by the burial with military honors at 11:00am in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
