Edwin J. "Edo" McMahon, Jr., 70, passed away on February 21, 2025. Born on September 10, 1954, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Edwin lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and a deep love for his family and community. He was an avid golfer who found joy on the greens, embracing both the sport and the camaraderie it fostered. His passion for sports extended beyond his own play—he cherished watching his grandchildren compete and was always ready to coach from the sidelines. A man of routine and friendship, Ed was a proud member of the breakfast club at the Dam Cafe, where he shared conversations and countless laughs. His generosity shone through in his dedication to delivering meals to those in need, embodying his caring spirit in everyday acts of service. Edwin's faith was an important part of his life, and he found spiritual comfort at Blessed Sacrament Church. Those who knew him will remember him as someone who gave freely of his time and heart to those around him. Edo is survived by his son, Thomas McMahon and his wife Yi-Chia; daughter, Emily Ross and her husband Timothy; grandchildren: Hannah, Lily, Alexandra, and Elizabeth; sisters, Eileen Cathro and her husband James and Christine Yurrack and her husband Anton, and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 11:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke; please meet directly at the church. There are no calling hours and burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ed’s name to the Oncology Department of Holyoke Medical Center at 575 Beech St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
