HOLYOKE: Elizabeth Frisino, known as Liz to her friends, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 8, 1933 to the late James and Helen Bowler, she had 10 siblings. Liz was married to Joseph Frisino and had 6 children. She leaves behind a son, Daniel Frisino, his wife, Christine Merkel; a daughter, Joan Petta, her husband John; a daughter Cindy Knightley, and husband Sean; her brother, George Bowler and his wife Cathy; 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Liz was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Frisino, the second of her sons, Joseph Frisino, her third son, Francis Frisino and a daughter, Kathy Wenning. Liz enjoyed working for the school department in the City of Holyoke serving children breakfast and lunch. She also worked at Acme Chain. Liz enjoyed camping in Shelburne Falls with her friends, she had a love for fishing and hosting weekly Texas Holdem poker games with her family in the winter months. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. A Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 10:00am at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Saint Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, all in Holyoke.
