Ernest James Reed

HOLYOKE

Ernest James Reed, age 63, of Holyoke, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late James M. and Jane (Wickop) Reed and was educated in the Holyoke Schools. Ernie worked as a mechanic doing electrical system repairs at Westover Job Corps Center. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1975 to 1979. He was predeceased by his longtime partner, Kathleen M. Rigali, in 2018. He is survived by the extended Rigali Family and many friends and co-workers in the greater Holyoke area. A calling hour will be held Thursday, August 22^nd from 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. Committal with United States Navy honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westover Job Corps Center, 103 Johnson Road, Chicopee, MA 01022.
