Evan Weiner of Granby left this world unexpectedly on March 4, 2026. Evan was born May 13th, 1953, in Springfield, MA, to James Weiner and Sylvia (Lawyer) Weiner, who predeceased him. He spent his entire adult life living in Western Mass, building lasting friendships and his loving family. He graduated from Classical High School in Springfield in 1971. He furthered his education at STCC and AIC. Evan took great passion in his work, holding down jobs throughout his life at Coleman Cable, Toner Plastics, and the Fish and Wildlife in Hadley. His favorite job, however, was the time he spent over the last 18 years working on the custodial staff at Springfield College. It was there that he spent his time not only performing his duties but also forging lasting friendships. Evan was adored by everyone he worked with, including his best friend Don.

Beyond work, Evan had a great taste for fine Jewish foods from delicatessens and bakeries all over New England, going as far as freezing the last bagel sold at Gus & Paul’s in Springfield. He never missed his daily newspaper or his daily stop at the Country Trading Post to play his lottery. However, the thing Evan adored most in his life was his family, whom he would drop anything and be there at a second's notice for, especially his grandson Charlie, his granddaughter Olive, and his great niece Riley. He loved taking his grandchildren for walks, swimming in the pool, and on trips and vacations, such as to the Jersey Shore in Wildwood.

Evan leaves behind a lasting legacy for everyone who knew him. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Virginia (Massey) of Granby; his son Alex, his wife Ashley, of Holyoke; his son Corey, his wife Katlin of Lunenburg; his brother Warren of South Hadley; his sister Karen of Springfield; his nieces and nephews; and his greatest loves, his grandchildren Charlie and Olive.

There will be no services, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
