Felix Colón Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Felix Colón, a devoted father, grandfather, partner, and friend whose life was defined by love, humility, and unwavering dedication to his family. Born on November 21, 1936, in Salinas, Puerto Rico, Felix was the beloved son of Rafael Colón and Andrea Rodríguez. He carried with him the values of perseverance, faith, and hard work throughout his life, eventually making his home in the northeastern United States. Felix dedicated many years to providing for his family, first as a factory worker and later through a proud career with the New York City Department of Sanitation. He believed that honest work was something to be proud of, and he led by example, teaching those around him the importance of responsibility, integrity, and resilience. He shared a lifetime of love with his life partner, Casta Pabón, and together they built a family that remained the greatest joy of his life. He was the loving father of Julie Colón Laboy and Felix Colón Jr., and a cherished grandfather whose love and guidance will continue to be felt for generations. To his grandson, Christopher, Felix was more than a grandfather. He was a role model whose quiet strength, determination, and deep love for his family left an enduring mark. Through his example, he showed that true success is measured not by wealth or recognition, but by the lives we touch, the sacrifices we make, and the family we leave behind. His journey from Puerto Rico to building a better life through years of honest work became part of the foundation upon which future generations would stand. His legacy will continue to inspire his grandson to live with the same integrity, compassion, and dedication that Felix demonstrated every day of his life. Felix will be remembered for his kind heart, steady presence, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. His life was a testament to the power of perseverance and the importance of family above all else. Though his passing leaves a tremendous void, the values he instilled and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved life partner, Casta Pabón; his daughter, Julie Colón; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and many relatives and friends. He was a devoted father to Julie Colón and Felix Colón Jr., both of whom were among the greatest joys of his life. His family finds comfort in knowing that his love, wisdom, and example will continue to guide them. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 28th at 10:00am in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by burial in Saint Jerome Cemetery, 1666 Northampton Street, both in Holy0oke. There are no calling hours.
