Frances J. (Croteau) Wilhelmi, age 86, of Holyoke, passed away on Monday, December 2nd, 2024 at home. She was born in Chicopee, daughter of the late George and Mary (Tabaka) Croteau and was educated in local schools. Fran was a secretary for Attorney Harold Brunault and later became the director of the Creative Arts Center/ Holyoke Home Information Center before she retired in 2003. She was very active in her parish, Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke and for many years led the RICA program. She was also a board member for the Friends of the Holyoke Senior Center. Fran is survived by her husband of 65 years, Thomas, her daughters: Mary Okseniak and husband Edward, and Ginger Levi; granddaughter Sarah Manning and husband John, grandson Andrew Okseniak and wife Kathryn and great grandchildren, Savannah, Bridget, Jackson and Emma. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by five brothers: Lenoard, George, Ronald, Neil, and Vincent Croteau, two sisters, Genevieve Ablicki and June Croteau, and her son-in-law Louis Levi. Fran was also blessed with many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. A calling hour will be held on Friday evening, December 6th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. The funeral will be held Saturday morning, December 7th at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will be at a later date in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. The family would like to thank the Holyoke Hospice and VNA for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Blessed Sacrament RCIA program.
