Francis G. Murray

HOLYOKE

Francis G. Murray, 89, of Holyoke, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Holyoke Medical Center. He was born in CT, son of the late Albert and Ellen Murray and was educated in the local schools. Francis was a retired auto mechanic for several Pioneer Valley car dealerships. He served in the National Guard, and was an American Legion member. Francis was a longtime communicant of Holy Cross Church. His beloved wife, Evelyn M. (Smith) Murray, predeceased him in 2005. Fe is survived by a son, Steven A. Murray and wife Sheila of Holyoke, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two sisters: Barbara Osgood and husband John of Hadley, and Betty Kadlewicz and husband Dave of Georgia, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Fran was predeceased by two sons, Francis G. and Robert F. Murray, three brothers: William, Albert and Charles Murray, and three sisters: Estelle Crean, June Loftus and Eleanor Bowen. The funeral will be held Tuesday, October 2^nd at 9:00 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass at 10:00 in Our Lady of the Cross Parish Church, Holy Cross Avenue. Burial will follow at Forestdale Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday, October 1^st from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Greater New England, 101A First Ave. Waltham MA 02451.
