Francis W. Yelle Obituary

Francis W. Yelle, 68, of South Hadley, Massachusetts, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Born and raised in Holyoke, he was the beloved son of the late Ernest George Yelle and Rena Marie (Rouillard) Yelle. He was predeceased by his brother, Henry Yelle, and his sister, Nancy Yelle. Francis is survived by his brother, David (Laurie) Yelle of Maryland, and three sisters: Rachel (Kevin) Joyce of Holyoke, Cynthia Yelle of Alabama, and Lisa Lavelle of Holyoke. He also leaves behind several cherished nieces, nephews, and close friends who will forever remember his kindness and sense of humor.

A talented mechanic with many creative gifts, Francis was known for his generous heart and compassionate spirit. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether fixing an engine, offering a word of encouragement, or performing quiet acts of kindness like helping members of his community or feeding the local feral cats each day. Francis was also a friend of Bill’s and found comfort and connection in the fellowship of the rooms, where he built many meaningful friendships that enriched his life.

His arrangements are being handled by the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home in Holyoke. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on November 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church, 310 Apremont Hwy, Holyoke, MA 01040.
