Frank J. Hegy, age 90, of Ludlow, peacefully passed away on September 9, 2024. He was the son of the late John and Hazel (Leonard) Hegy of Holyoke. After graduating from Holyoke High School, Frank played semi-pro baseball in Florida. He then proudly served in the US Army. Afterward he began a 40-year career at Monsanto. Frank also worked for many years at the Eastern States Exposition. Frank was an avid sportsman playing baseball, hockey, and softball and coaching many teams. He was a life-long fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Frank loved to fish, especially at Soundview Beach where he enjoyed summers with family and friends. Frank was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Kay, and beloved daughter, Lynne Wilson. He is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Mark), Nancy (Jeff), Mary (Kevin), and Jo-Ann (Aaron), his 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brother in-law, Jerry, and cousin, Betty (Joe). The family wishes to thank the VA and Baystate Hospice for the care and kindness they provided. Calling hours for Frank will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St., Holyoke, with a service following at 11:00 am, and burial at Calvary Cemetery, 2140 Northampton St., Holyoke.
