G. Thomas Lawler Obituary
George Thomas Lawler, age 79, passed away peacefully May 8, 2025. Thomas was born in Holyoke, son of the late Aloysius C. And Ruth M. (Smith) Lawler, and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. After high school Thomas served in the United States Navy. He worked as a welder at Bolthouse Farm in California before returning to Western Mass in 2011 when he became a snowbird traveling between Massachusetts and Florida. When he was in Florida, he lived with his cousin, Carol (Sparks, Wells) Ward until her passing in 2021. He lived in Western Mass full time from December, 2021. Thomas is survived by three children: Tammy J. Niemann and her husband Michael of Bakersfield, CA; two sons, Robert T. Lawler and Steven P. Lawler and his partner, Kimee Earnshaw, both of Bakersfield, CA; two three grandchildren, Harley and Alexis Niemann, and Hudson Lawler; and a sister Marie Deitz and her family. He is predeceased by his sister, Patricia Russell, and his grandson, Michael. The funeral will be held Wednesday May 21 with a prayer service in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Forestdale Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 9:00am to 11:00am.
