Gail (Collamore) Flanagan Obituary

Gail (Collamore) Flanagan, age 86, passed away at home on October 17, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband Philip F. Flanagan in 1987. Gail was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Leonard and Catherine (Farrell) Collamore, and was a graduate of Holyoke High School and Westfield State College. Gail was an educator in the Holyoke Public School system for 40 years, mostly at McMahon School. Over the years she was a member of both Saint Jerome Parish and Our Lady of the Cross Parish. Gail was a longtime advocate of the Sisters of St. Joseph. She enjoyed traveling to Ireland, admired Scarlet O'Hara, and took great pride in any conversations about her beloved family. She often spent time reading detailed journals written by her late husbanð allowing her to re-live so many special moments and milestones. Gail also enjoyed doing the crossword puzzles in the newspapers everyday. Gail is survived by her brother William “Ronnie” Collamore, sisters-in-law Barbara of Maine and Rosemary of Agawam and a brother in law Barry McPhee of South Hadley and many nieces and nephews that she considered like her own children. She was predeceased by her siblings, Leonard, James, Nancy, Catherine, and John (Abe) and two dear nephews David and Donald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday October 25 at 10:00am in Saint Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street, followed by burial in Saint Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday October 24 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street.
