HOLYOKE
George Robert Blanchard, age 71, of Holyoke, formerly of South Hadley, passed away at home Thursday April 25, 2019. George was born in Holyoke, son of the late Edward J. and Cecile L. (Benoit) Blanchard, and attended Holyoke schools. He was a machinist for many years at Tubed Products in Easthampton. George enjoyed billiards games and his trips to the casino. He was predeceased by his wife Carol (Renfrow) Blanchard. He is survived by two sisters: Darlene A. Courchesne and her husband Donald of Holyoke, and Theresa O. Bergeron, as well as many nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces. Besides his parents and wife, George was predeceased by two brothers: Norman Blanchard and Edward J. Blanchard, as well as his brother-in-law Philip Bergeron. The funeral will be held Tuesday April 30 at 10:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by Mass at 11:00am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery, South Hadley.
