SPRINGFIELD: George L. Pelletier, 62, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at West Side House in Worcester. He was born in Springfield, son of the late George and Irene (Haroshevsky) Pelletier and graduated from Springfield Technical High School and Lowell Technical Institute. He served in the United States Army from 1978 to 1981 and attained the rank of Sergeant. George was a retired Civil Engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He is survived by two brothers: William Pelletier and wife Linda of West Brookfield, and Laurence “Larry” Pelletier of Rocky Hill CT, a sister, Helen Dauplaise and husband Ernest of Brockton, and a niece and a nephew. Besides his parents, George was predeceased by a brother, Michael Pelletier. The funeral will be held Monday, January 29th at 12 noon from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, at 12:30 p.m. Committal with Military Honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. Agawam . A calling hour will be held Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
