Gerald F. McMullan, age 92, of Saint Augustine, Florida died on Tuesday, July 24, 2021 at his daughter Christine’s home. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late James T. and Catherine (Flanagan) McMullan, and was a graduate of the former Sacred Heart High School. He also received degrees from HCC, WNEC and AIC. Serving the City of Holyoke as a police officer since 1959 he retired with the rank of Captain of Detectives with a career spanning more than thirty years.  Jerry also served 36 years with the Massachusetts Army National Guard, retiring in 1982 with the rank of Lt. Colonel. His wife of 61 years Irma H. McMullan passed earlier this year on January 26, 2026. 

They are survived by his son, Gerald McMullan “Jay” and his wife Haiyan of Bealeton VA; and daughters, Susan McMullan and her lifetime companion Thomas Pisano and their son Stephen of Granby, Lisa Giroux and her husband Richard of Chicopee, Christine Patrick of Apopka FL her two children Gianna and Julian. He was predeceased by his siblings James McMullan, Gloria McMullan, Sarah Catherine McMullan, and Theresa Fitzell and her husband Ernest along with his youngest brother Bryan McMullan.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday July 1, 2026 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
