HOLYOKE: Geraldine Mary (Kreuter) Dover, age 89, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her daughter’s home on May 9, 2020. Born and raised in Holyoke, MA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edwina (L’esperance) Kreuter. Geraldine enjoyed a long and happy career as an operator for New England Telephone and then A T &T before and after traveling the world as a devoted U.S. Air Force wife and mother. She was known for her infectious sense of humor and beautiful smile, making countless friends wherever she went. She had a very deep love of animals, especially her beloved birds and squirrels, which she persisted to hand feed until her eyesight failed. Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Denver Dover, Geraldine leaves behind her son, David Dover and dear friend Susan Ashe of Chicopee; her daughters, Debra Boyle and partner, Henry Czerniak of Holyoke, Joan Decker and partner Kelly Dickinson of Middletown, NY, Carol Carruth and husband, Rob of Tucson, AZ; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Jeanne Kreuter of Orlando, FL; eight grandchildren: Daniel and Brian Boyle, Ashley Grebeldinger, Brittany, Joshua, and Janessa Decker, Haley and Madison Dover; one great grandson, Greyson Grebeldinger as well as several nieces and nephews and her dear in-laws of Greenville, SC. Geraldine was also predeceased by her brothers, Arthur, Herbert, and twin, Gerald Kreuter; her sister, Marguerite Munns; and son-in-law, Daniel Boyle. Due to the current health care crisis funeral services, as well as internment in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam will be private.
