Geraldine E. (Germain) Sansoucy

March 17, 1930 ~ December 31, 2020 (age 90)

Geraldine E. (Germain) Sansoucy, 90, was called home on Dec.31,2020 under hospice care in Holyoke, Ma. Living independently until the very end, Jeri never recovered from a fall and her plan to return to Vermont and live out her years was prevented by days. Geraldine was born in Georgia, VT to the late Arthur and Florence Germain (Longway). Jeri was a longtime resident of Granby, MA Living on Bachelor St. for most of her life, where her neighbors were part of her family. Retired from Hano Business Forms, Inc. in the mid nineties she’s one of the strongest women we know. A self-reliant, inventive, great friend and true outdoorsman, she will be remembered as a dog lover with many 4- legged companions over the years. A kindred storyteller with great humor and stubbornness one would never forget, Jeri was the coolest and best dressed Gram there’s been. Fiercely loyal to her family, she was always there for every moment with her arms wrapped around them. Geraldine was preceded in death by her daughters, Christine M. Sansoucy and Lori M. Sansoucy. She is survived by her dog Daisy, her grandchildren Rebecca Ventrice, Bobbilea Larrivee, Cassi Curto, Hillary Roy, Matthew Roy and their spouses, great grandchildren Bella Curto, Camryn & Jameson Larrivee, Julien & Oz Ventrice, and Landen & Sawyer Towsley, and niece and nephew Donna and Steven Germain. Jeri’s love for animals was as great as her love for her family & friends. She looked forward to monthly dinners with the girls, meaningful conversations, shopping, walks & a good book. She shared her love for VT with all who knew her. Jeri was a source of balance in our world whose strength will carry on in all of us. Our anchor, we love you Gram. A celebration of life will be held at a later date due to Covid-19 restrictions. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
