Gisele G. (Frappier) Pin Obituary

Wilbraham – We celebrate the life of Gisele G. Pin, a long-time resident of Holyoke and Wilbraham, and a communicant of Saint Cecilia’s Parish. Gisele passed away on Monday, December 29th in the loving embrace of her family. Gisele journeyed to the United States from Canada at age 12 in search of a better life. Upon her arrival, she lived with her loving Aunt Marialise and Uncle Walter Tetreault, who lived in and owned a jewelry store in the Highlands of Holyoke. She successfully integrated into American society, learning the English language, working at her aunt and uncle's jewelry store, and earning her high school degree in 1951 from Holyoke High School. Gisele became a United States citizen on September 25, 1953, an achievement which she was rightly proud of throughout her life. On April 24, 1954, she married her lifelong husband Clement A. Pin of Holyoke. Once married, the couple established a loving home in Holyoke and raised four children. A devoted wife and mother, Gisele modeled the values of hard work, determination, perseverance, faithfulness, and dedication to family. In addition to running the household, Gisele worked as a teller at Shawmut Bank on Suffolk St. in Holyoke. In her limited free time, she enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and was an avid golfer, playing many rounds over the years as a member of the Wyckoff Park Country Club in Holyoke. Upon retiring, Gisele and Clement spent many winters in Naples, FL. After Clement’s passing in 2005, Gisele settled in Wilbraham to support her children and her adoring grandchildren. Her Catholic faith was paramount throughout her life. As an active communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Our Lady of the Cross parishes, both in Holyoke, as well Saint Cecilia’s Parish in Wilbraham, Gisele instilled strong Catholic values and beliefs within her family. Gisele was predeceased by her husband Clement. She leaves a daughter Gabrielle Pikul and her husband Stanley (Daytona Beach, FL), son Clement Jr. and his wife Roxanne (Huntington, MA), son Philip and his wife Marybeth (Fernandina Beach, FL) and a daughter Michelle Glidden and her husband David (Glastonbury, CT). She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Ryan Pikul (GA), Rachel (Pikul) Muchuelas and her husband Nico (Lugoff Trail, SC), Clement III (Rochester, NY), Chandler and his wife Caroline (Middlefield, MA), Philip Jr. (Cranston, RI), Emily (Pin) Calvanico and her husband Philip (Flower Mound, TX), Rosemarie (Glidden) Coveney and her husband Jack (Winthrop, MA), and Elizabeth Glidden (Alpharetta, GA). She also leaves four great grandchildren: Kaya, Walker, Blakely and Gianna with another bundle of joy heading our way. Special thanks to our hospice nurse Janet Perez, an angel sent from heaven in our time of need. Calling hours for Gisele will be held on Monday, January 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrating Gisele’s life on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street, Holyoke.
