Glenn C. Bowers Obituary

Glenn Carl Bowers, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on June 1, 1933, in Auburn, Ohio, to the late Benjamin and Mabel Bowers, Glenn lived a life full of laughter, love, and devotion to his family. He was predeceased by his brother, Harold Bowers, and sister, Valaska Wagner. After proudly enlisting in the United States Air Force, Glenn was transferred to Westover Air Base in Chicopee, Massachusetts. It was there that he met the love of his life, Marilyn, who became his wife of 69 wonderful years. Together, they built a family rooted in love, faith, and joy. For 27 years, Glenn was a top salesman for Wonder Bread, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike with his hard work and unwavering dedication. But beyond his professional success, it was his family who brought him the greatest pride and joy.

Glenn leaves behind his devoted children: Deborah Stevenson (Jeffrey), Susan Morrie, and Glenn Bowers (Catherine). He was the cherished “Poppy” to his six grandchildren, Sara Stevenson-Cruz (Khayyam), Amy Boyea (Gary), Ryan Morrie (Rachel), Tyler Bowers, Travis Bowers, and Nathan Morrie, as well as six great-grandchildren who adored him. Those who knew Glenn will always remember his hearty, infectious laugh that could fill a room and brighten any moment. His family was the center of his world, and though he often said that he “had the best family,” the truth is that his family and friends were the lucky ones. To be loved by Glenn was to be blessed beyond measure.

Glenn will be laid to rest with military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Glenn’s memory to Alzheimer’s Disease International at www.alzint.org.
