Homer Raymond Renaud, age 86, of Palmetto, Florida, formerly of Holyoke, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025. Homer was born in Middletown, CT son of the late Henry E. and Beatrice M. (Gouin) Renaud and was educated in Holyoke schools. He was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Homer served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1959. He then worked at EIS Wire and Cable Co. as the manufacturing manager and eventually retired as the plant manager of Coleman Cable Co. in East Longmeadow in 2004. He also taught for several years in the Holyoke public schools. Homer was a past president of the Holyoke Kiwanis Club and a longtime communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.
Homer was predeceased by his wife Arline L. (Callahan) Renaud. He is survived by his wife Lorraine (Jones) Renaud of Palmetto; three daughters: Dawn M. Donahue of Holyoke, Deanne Rheaume and her husband Glen of Springfield, and Monica Drew of South Hadley; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister Cecile Yvon. Homer was predeceased by a sister, Jane Ducharme.
The funeral will be held Saturday April 12 at 10:30am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will take place in Saint Jerome Cemetery with U.S. Navy honors. Calling hours are Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30am in the funeral home.
