Irene R. (Paquette) Connon

Irene R. (Paquette) Connon, 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Godfrey and Rita (Brouillette) Paquette and was a 1958 graduate of Holyoke High School.  Irene was employed as an accounts payable clerk for Appleton Corporation before retiring and was also a parishioner of St Patrick’s Church in South Hadley.  She is survived by her beloved husband and love of her life James H. Connon of 61 years, her daughter Lori A. Bernier and her husband Roger, and sons Glenn G. Connon and his wife Kara, and Gary J. Connon and his wife Patricia, as well as eight grandchildren. Irene loved spending time with her family, decorating for Christmas and enjoyed many hours of word puzzles.  As a family, we are so grateful to all the doctors and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit at Holyoke Medical Center for their compassion and exceptional care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday January 31 at 10:00am in Saint Patrick Church, 30 Main Street, South Hadley, followed by burial in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Chicopee. There are no calling hours. Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104 and Saint Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
