James G. Cartwright Obituary
James Cartwright, 84, of Holyoke passed away on February 25, 2025. Born in Liverpool, England to the late Leonard and Sarah (Hibbert) Cartwright. He is predeceased by his wife of 57 years Gertrud and his son Klaus. He missed them dearly each and every day. He leaves his daughter, Carmen and husband Mike Krzesik; his son Glen and wife Tara Cartwright; his grandchildren Sarah and Carter Krzesik, Cameron and Alex Cartwright, and Nicholas Cartwright of Florida; a sister Margaret Hickey and many nieces and nephews. Jim was a US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He enjoyed his retirement from Northeast Utilities since 1997. He was active in his community serving as Holyoke Fire Commissioner, Holyoke War Memorial Committee member, past Master of Mt Tom Masonic Lodge, Commander of the VFW Post 80, and a member of the Elks Lodge 1849. Committal with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, March 4th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 10:15 at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Holyoke Senior Center 291 Pine St, Holyoke.
