James A. Skiba Obituary

James A. Skiba, 74, of Holyoke, died on Saturday August 9, 2025 at Renaissance Manor in Holyoke. Jim was born in Holyoke, son of the late Max and Loretta (LaFond) Skiba. He served with the United State Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Jim was a letter carrier for the Holyoke Post Office, a member of the Loyal Order of the Purple Heart and the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his fiancé, Lori-Ann Bruyette, his sister, Maxine Brodeur of Southampton, Deb Tully of Chicopee, and his beloved dog Abigail. Besides his parents Jim was predeceased by his brothers, Francis “Butch” Skiba, William Skiba, and sisters, Kathleen Skiba and Margaret Brassil. A funeral home service will be held on Tuesday August 19th in Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke at 2:00 pm, followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam at 3:00 pm. A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral home service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
