With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James H. “Jimmy” Sullivan, age 74. Born in Holyoke, he was a son of the late James and Eileen (Trant) Sullivan. Jimmy graduated from Holyoke Catholic High School and Westfield State College. He had a very satisfying thirty-nine-year career as Director of Housekeeping and Laundry at Mount Saint Vincent Nursing Home in Holyoke. Jimmy was predeceased by his brothers Thomas and Michael Sullivan. He leaves behind his devoted partner and husband of forty-two years, George Teixeira, his beloved sister Judy and her husband Phil Drew, several cousins, his best friend Chris, along with many good friends. Jimmy was a kind and giving man. He will continue to be loved for a very long time to come. Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 2nd from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will be private.
