Janet E. Rosseau, age 76, of Holyoke, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at MissionCare in Holyoke. She was born in East Hartford, CT, the daughter of the late John W. and Ethel M. (Whitham) Rosseau. Janet spent 49 years of her life in Holyoke where she went to school and later was employed by Holyoke Hospital and the former Buckley Nursing Home. She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Holyoke. Janet’s hobbies included bird watching, walking, and knitting. She loved her pet dogs, having two dachshunds over the years. She and her mother were avid fans of TV quiz shows and loved watching old movies. Janet also loved to travel, going on trips to California, Canada, and Florida. Janet never missed attending the annual Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day parade. She is survived by many cousins, including Chuck Whitham and his wife Peg of Florence, MA, and Barbara Barry of Manchester, CT. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, John Rosseau, Jr. A Graveside Service for Janet will be held on Monday, April 12th at 11:30 am at Forestdale Cemetery, Cabot Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 485 Appleton Street, Holyoke, MA 01040. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
