Janice M. (Cotnoir) Lunardini Obituary
Janice (Cotnoir) Lunardini, 84, of Holyoke, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025 at her home. Janice was born and raised in Holyoke, MA. She was the daughter of the late Daniel Cotnoir and Margaret (Dion) Cotnoir. She attended Immaculate Conception grammar school and Precious Blood High School both located in Holyoke. As a young child she excelled in swimming. She found great peace in being in the water. As she got older Janice had many hobbies which included woodworking, art, jigsaw puzzles and gardening. Janice was known for never wanting to call someone to fix something around the house. She took lots of pride in reading, “do it yourself books,” to complete household issues on her own. Janice had a love of practical jokes and family gatherings, where you would always find her washing every dish by hand. While her sons were growing up, Janice and her husband John made sure to create memorable experiences while vacationing at Lake George, Old Orchard Beach, Hampton Beach and Cape Cod. Janice spent many years working for the Social Security Office in Holyoke in which she created many long- lasting friendships. It brought Janice great joy to spend the remainder of her time with her grandsons whom she loved so very much. She would always light up when she saw them. She made sure to save every single photo and piece of artwork that they made for her. Janice is survived by her son Brett Lunardini and his wife Annabel of Bridgewater; two grandchildren, John and Joseph Lunardini; two sisters, Justine (Cotnoir) McKenna and her husband James and Roxanne (Cotnoir) Kennedy and her husband Bart; sisters-in-law: Mary (Lunardini) Prajzner, Julie (Lunardini) Janocha and Marcia (Richards) Lunardini; brother-in-law: Cas Janocha and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Janice was predeceased by her husband, John Lunardini, whom she was married to for 50 years and a son, Adam J. Lunardini; a sister-in-law, Barbara (Lunardini) Murphy; brothers-in-law, William Lunardini, Antonio Lunardini, Edward Prajzner and James Murphy. The funeral will be held on Monday, August 25 at 10:00 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street.
