Jean Stasia (Swinsonek) Buxton, 90, of Holyoke, departed this life and entered into eternal life to be with her husband Arthur E. Buxton Jr. on January 29, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born April 14, 1935, daughter of the late Frank Swinsonek and Stasia (Ogulewicz) Bousquet. She attended Holyoke Public Schools. She worked as a young girl in Clark's Department Store and went on to marry and raise her family. She later worked and retired from the Holyoke Transcript as well as the Willimansett Nursing Home. Jean loved to bake with her great-grandchildren and teaching her great-granddaughter Kayla how to sew. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and most of all making crafts. She was very talented and was very proud to make these crafts and donate them for the Mater Dolorosa Tag Sales and Gingerbread Shopping Day for the school children. She also loved to bake the birthday cakes for family. Jean loved her two furry feline companions Rodie and Weezy. She is survived by her two daughters, Debra Reardon of Holyoke and Brenda Parent (Thomas) of Worthington; her son Kenneth Buxton of Holyoke; her two granddaughters Michelle (Reardon) Lukasiewicz (Kevin) of Holyoke and Chantal Klekot of Brattleboro, Vermont; and her five great-grandchildren, Michael R. and Kayla A. Lukasiewicz, Kason J. LaPointe, Kai and Sareya Ly. She also leaves her three sisters and two brothers, as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, great nieces and great nephews. Her brother Stanley Garczynski predeceased her. Special thank you for Holyoke Hospice team, especially Nurse Rhonda, her favorite. The Funeral will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 9:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, all Holyoke. Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at the funeral home.
