FEEDING HILLS: Jean A. (Lachapelle) Gendreau, 90, of Feeding Hills, MA, born on July 4, 1935 in Worcester, MA and died on May 29, 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceasing Jean was her beloved husband Joseph “Phil” whom she was married to since September 1956, her daughter Michelle Gendreau, her granddaughter Amanda Denette, her brother Richard (Wallace) Lachapelle, sisters, Gloria Lavalley, Winifred Peregrin, Claudette Fuller, Madeline Lachapelle. Surviving Jean is her brother, Phillip Lachapelle, her children and their spouses, Bernadine Ruell and her husband Thomas, Cynthia Denette and her husband Christopher, Peter Gendreau and his wife Debra, Melissa Costa and her husband Antonio, Joseph P. Gendreau, Phillip W. Gendreau and 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jean was employed as a Registered Nurse with Baystate Medical Center and with the Visiting Nurse Association before she retired. She spent many years living in Granby, MA where she was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and had served as a religious education teacher, lectern, and a eucharistic minister. She enjoyed travelling, and had taken many trips to PEI and Quebec, Canada, Florida and cruises to Bermuda and the Western Caribbean. She also enjoyed playing cards and above all she loved spending time with her family and friends. The funeral for Jean will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 8:45am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 256 State Street, Granby. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, South Hadley. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
