HOLYOKE: Jean M. (Padden) Manning, age 87, of Holyoke, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in Agawam. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Edward G. and Jean M. (Zych) Padden and was a graduate of the former St. Jerome High School. Jean worked for Providence Hospital for many years, retiring in 1997. She is survived by her beloved son, James W. Manning and his wife Valerie of Agawam, MA and her beloved grandchild, James D. Roberts-Manning and his wife Isabella; three great-grandchildren; Isabella, Jimmy and John as well as her sister, Barbara Frances. Jean was predeceased by her husband James L. Manning in 2010; a son, John E. Manning in 1992, and a brother, Thomas Padden. The funeral will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 10:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, both in Holyoke. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley. A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral from 9:00am to 10:00am.
