Joan Louise (Moglinski) Britton

Joan Louise Britton, 64, of Southampton, MA, passed away on July 11, 2020 with her loved ones by her side.

She was born on 11/25/1955 in Holyoke, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Michael Moglinski.

Joan is survived by her husband Chris Britton; her son Ronnie DeRoy and his wife Heather, her daughter Kristi Olivero and her husband Humberto; Grandchildren, Makayla, Brooklyn, Olivia, Kason, Ronnie III, Jalen, and Amaya.

She graduated from Holyoke High School in 1973. She went on to study Business at Holyoke Community College and graduated with an Associates.

Joan worked as a Retail Bank Officer for 32 years. After 32 years of service, she retired from Easthampton Savings Bank in 2017.

Joan met Chris Britton on his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and fell in love. She loved Chris for his laid-back attitude, wit, friendship, and how he loved her children like his own. Chris will forever miss the love of his life.

Joan enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her husband, children and grandchildren. Joan was an amazing person who showed love to everyone she met. She always fought for the underdog and helped so many young people with her positive advice and support. She was understanding, a great listener, hard worker, and she knew how to have a good time. Joan opened her doors to anyone and was always ready to feed each of them. She had amazing friends that were more like her family and her home was the hangout for the guys. She enjoyed spending holidays with the very big Britton family. She spent most of her time with her family at home, she loved the beach and she enjoyed drinking martinis with her daughter and daughter-in-law and dancing to music. She loved her sons sense of humor and quick comebacks. She always put her children’s needs before hers and always spent time with the grandkids and spoiling them because they were ALL her favorite. Her time here on earth was too short. All she wanted was to spend her retirement with her family and watch her grandkids grow up, taking trips together and enjoying what she worked so hard for. Cancer sucks and took this away from her.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street followed by a Graveside Service at Forestdale West Cemetery, Rock Valley Road, both in Holyoke. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in memory of Joan to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
