HOLYOKE
Joan C. (Domingue) Fleming, age 84, a longtime resident of Holyoke, passed away following a brief illness on Thursday, October 22, 2020. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Albert and Josephine (Lague) Domingue and attended Sacred Heart Schools. Joan worked for National Blank Book Company, Advertising Corporation of America, and retired from Mansir Holden Printing Company. She was a longtime communicant of the former Holy Family Parish and currently of Blessed Sacrament Parish. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, making crossword puzzles, going to the movies, shopping, and going to the Holyoke Council on Aging Senior Center. Joan leaves behind her loving husband of 64 years, Jim Fleming; a son, Bob and his wife Debbie of Franklin, MA; a daughter, Cindy Costanza and her husband Peter of Holyoke and adoring granddaughter, Carissa; and many extended family members as well as her beloved cat, Buffy. Besides her parents, Joan was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Kennedy and Doris Raney. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial for Joan on Monday, October 26th at 10 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will follow at Saint Jerome Cemetery. Due to the Covid pandemic there are no calling hours and the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s memory to Friends of Holyoke Council on Aging, 291 Pine Street, Holyoke, MA 01040, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Joan will be missed by all.
