Joan T. (Sarnecki) Guertin

HOLYOKE

Joan T. (Sarnecki) Guertin, 78, of Holyoke, MA, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2020. A longtime resident of Holyoke, she was well loved by the community and will be greatly missed. Joan was born in Holyoke, MA to the late Bronislaw and Josephine (Okraska) Sarnecki. In her youth, she was diligent and determined, and she graduated from Holyoke High School and Holyoke Community College. Throughout her lifetime, Joan worked for Sears Catalog, Valley Bank, Tel Tool, Ahearn, United Transmission & Hodge Manufacturing before retiring to Henderson, Nevada. True to her passions, she loved playing poker machines and traveling the world with her loving husband, William, of 61 years. Together, Joan and William formed a lasting love and raised a beautiful family together. As such, Joan is survived by her devoted husband William T. Guertin of Holyoke, MA. She leaves two sons; William and his wife of Holyoke, MA, Kenneth and his partner of Westfield, MA, as well as a daughter, Kimm and her husband of Ludlow, MA. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren: Curtis Simpson, Derek Simpson and his wife, Taylor Simpson, Sydney Guertin, Tyler Guertin, Ken Guertin, and one great grandchild, Carter Simpson. All of whom will miss her dearly and cherish the memories she provided them with. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday October 31^st at 11:30am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery, South Hadley. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sister Caritas Cancer Center, 271 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.  The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street is handling the arrangements.
