Joan Carol (Frisino) Petta, age 70, passed away in her home on Friday, April 3, 2026. Daughter of the late Elizabeth (Bowler) Frisino and Joseph F. Frisino II, Joan was born and raised in Holyoke. One of six, she grew up with her siblings: Kathleen Wenning, Joseph Frisino III, Daniel Frisino, Cynthia Knightly, and Francis Frisino. She graduated from Holyoke High School in 1973. 

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Joan is survived by her husband, John Petta Sr., who she has been married to for 52 years, her two children, John Petta Jr. and Jessica Petta. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Katelyn Petta, Alyssa Camarillo, Amber Koske, Sadie Spevack, and Tyler Petta, and three great-grandchildren: Brody Malinowski, Evanna Camarillo, and Jayden Camarillo. Joan was awaiting the birth of another great-granddaughter, Autumn Gardner. 

Joan worked as an accountant, most recently for the Performance Food Group company. Joan loved riding on their motorcycle with her husband John. While on the bike, they would travel throughout New England, discover new views, and try new restaurants. Most of the time, Joan could be found in her leather bike gear with a helmet and sunglasses on, ready to go wherever the day took her and John. She dedicated her time to her family, having her granddaughters over for sleepovers and taking in family when they needed her. Joan was an avid supporter of all of her family’s dreams and goals and helped them achieve what they wished. 

She will be deeply missed by her family who depended on her for moral support. Joan was everyone’s cheerleader and she will be remembered for the joy and humor she brought to every room.
