It is with heavy hearts that we announce on Saturday, March 27, 2021, our beloved mother, Joan M. (Viens) Urbanski, 90, of Holyoke, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chicopee, Joan was the daughter of the late Euclid and Beatrice (Mongeau) Viens and attended Cathedral High School. Joan was co-owner of Central Auto Supply in Holyoke with her husband, Henry, for over 35 years. She enjoyed traveling and spent much time at her home in Myrtle Beach, SC. Joan found beauty in everything, but she particularly loved fashion, glitz, and glamour. She was a communicant of St. Jerome Church. Joan was predeceased by her husband, Henry J. Urbanski, who died in 2014. She is survived by her children, David M. Urbanski and his wife Roberta of South Hadley, Martin H. Urbanski and his wife Sandra of Westfield and Cheryl Haller and her husband David of The Villages, FL, and her former daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Sullivan of Holyoke. She leaves her grandchildren, David Haller, Jr., Ashley Fedigan, Adam Haller, Courtney Haller, Lauren Rickman, Andrew Urbanski, Martin Urbanski, Jr., and Michelle Urbanski; and her great-grandchildren, Charlie, Michael, Jacob, Levi, and Thomas. She also leaves her three sisters, Lucille Teague of Groton, CT, Constance Frutuoso of Springfield, and Claire Giblo of Chicopee. Joan enjoyed spending her Sunday afternoons with her sisters and three special nieces, Jackie, Helen and Donna. Besides her parents and husband, Joan was predeceased by her siblings, Rita, Roger, Ernest, Alfred, Gloria, Richard, and Shirley. The Funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. in St. Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Joan to Jericho, P.O. Box 1039, Holyoke, MA 01041.
