John J. O'Neill

John J. O’Neill, 59, died Saturday September 19, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center after a long illness. John was born in Holyoke, son of Edith (Sheehan) O’Neill and the late John C. O’Neill and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. He worked for many years at the Department of Public Works for the City of Holyoke. John was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Parish. He enjoyed fishing, watching the New England Patriots, and listening to the Rolling Stones. Besides his mother Edith, he is survived by his wife, Deanna “Dee” (Collamore) O’Neill; a son, John C. O’Neill; three step-children, Matthew, Daniel and Katelyn Lentes; two sisters: Sharon Dymek and her husband David of Chicopee, and Mary Sacino and her husband Paul of Millbury, MA; two nieces, Kimberly and Sara Dymek, and many friends and extended family. The family would like to thank the staff at Baystate Medical Center for the compassionate care they gave John. The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday September 29 at 10:00am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will follow in Forestdale Cemetery West, Rock Valley Road, Holyoke. Calling hours are Monday September 28 from 4:00 to 7:00pm in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street.
