CHICOPEE
John E. “Jack” Jasinski passed away at Baystate Medical Center on Friday, March 6, 2020. Son of the late Edward S. and Joan Jasinski. Jack was a proud Vietnam Veteran. A member of Special Forces in the 173rd Airborne Division; he was injured in the line of duty on May 7, 1968. He was honorably discharged and presented with a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Jack was a longtime member of the Melha Shrine, joining the clown unit (Klum-Z and Homer) in 1982. Clowning around was one of his favorite past times and it brought him great joy knowing the benefit was for the children. He enjoyed spending his summers at Powderhorn Family Campground in Old Orchard Beach, ME. He spent over 15 years as a pool attendant making sure people followed the rules, despite the fact that he rarely followed them himself. Throughout his years as a clown and his well spent time in Maine, Jack built so many amazing friendships that lasted until the end. He was truly grateful for all the love and laughter that came with those friendships. Jack’s greatest and most precious loves were that of his family. His wife of 49 years Donna, his daughter Kristen and her husband Carl, daughter Sarah and son in law Tom. His grandchildren Kyle, Lydia, Bret, Nahomy, Andrew, William, and his littlest love great grand daughter Vivianna. He also leaves behind his brother Peter and his wife Carol, his sister Anne Peplinski, his many loving in-laws Debbie and Lenny Beaulieu, Diane Potvin, Nancy and Alex Jafari, and Douglas Stevens along with and many loving nieces and nephews. Jack was an amazing soul with a mischievous smile and a wicked laugh that will be missed every minute of every day. We were the lucky ones. Calling hours for John will be held on Friday March 13 from 8:30 to 10:15am in the Barry J Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by Committal with Military Honors at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. In lieu of flowers, consider donations to the Gary Sinise Foundation www.garysinisefoundation.org or the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104
