John Meneghini

HOLYOKE:  John Meneghini, 68 of Boston, MA and formally of Holyoke, MA passed away suddenly from a short illness February 4, 2019 at Mass General Hospital with family by his side. John was born September 16, 1950 in Holyoke MA to the late Ferdinand Meneghini and Theresa (Proulx) Marconi.  He is survived by his mother, 2 sisters and brother, Diane Spazzarini and her husband Mark of Enfield CT, Lisa Meneghini of Holyoke MA and William Marconi and his wife Sharon of Lakewood Ranch Florida. He also leaves behind his niece and nephews, Brian, Daniel and Kelly Spazzarini and Dominic and Christiano Marconi.

John was a graduate of Precious Blood High School and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Boston University. He worked for a few years at Jordan Marsh in Boston and spent 37 wonderful years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston as an Interior Designer/Space Planner.  MIT was like a second family to John.  Most of his work colleagues were also his very best friends. 

John’s joy and passion in life was antiquing. He never missed a week at Brimfield rain or shine. He traveled extensively, always in search of his next treasure, driving never flying. He had made so many friends on these adventures. John loved the finer things in life and had a wonderful appreciation for history. He lived his life to the fullest and was a great brother and loyal friend to so many people.  He will be sorely missed. The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, all in Holyoke.  Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of John to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701.
