John Michael Stearns

John Michael Stearns, age 56, longtime Holyoke resident, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022. He was born in Holyoke, a son of the late Robert J. and Elizabeth G. (Fleming) Stearns, and was a 1984 graduate of Holyoke High School. Immediately after high school, John joined the United States Navy and served honorably until his discharge in 1988. He is survived by a sister, Mary E. Stearns of Torrington CT; three brothers: Mark E. Stearns of Enfield CT, Kevin R. Stearns of Middleboro MA and Matthew C. Stearns of Denver CO, as well as many nieces and nephews. Committal with United States Navy honors will be held Monday, August 1st at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Soldier’s Home in Holyoke, Inc. PO Box 1338, Holyoke MA 01041.
