Jonathan David Carpenter, age 22, of Amherst, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 19, 2025. He was born on February 19, 2002, in Northampton, Massachusetts, the loving son of William Torres and Lacy Anne Carpenter, and attended local schools. Jonathan was known by those close to him for his loyalty, loving nature and sense of humor. Jonathan was intelligent, creative, strong, resilient and had a passion for life. His loyalty and caring for his family was of the utmost importance to him. Besides his parents, Jonathan is survived by his siblings: William Torres Jr., Jonah Escobar, Maximus Chhay-Carpenter and Aiyana Clark. He is also survived by a host of extended family members, including his maternal family: grandmother Lori Kreffer Carpenter, uncle Thomas Carpenter, and aunts Demma Rosa Sims and Janira Rodriquez. His maternal cousins: Arianna Carpenter, Javien Dane, Ryland Dane, Aisley Dane, Janira Sims and Isaiah Mein. On his paternal side, he is survived by his grandfather, Jorge Torres, grandmother Debra Perez, uncle George Torres Jr, aunt Luz Tirado, and cousins: George J Torres, Selenia Torres, Victoria Torres and Noah Torres. Jonathan was predeceased by his father, William Torres. Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home in Holyoke, assisted the family.
