Jose A. Rodriguez, Jr.

Jose A. Rodriguez, Jr. (a.k.a “Chunky”), the traveling Barber and long-life resident of Holyoke, MA, died suddenly and unexpectedly on June 4, 2021 at the age of 42. 

Jose is survived by his parents; his children, Amylianie Rodriguez and Jeyden Rodriguez.  He will be missed by his sisters; Marisol Rodriguez, Elsie Rodriguez-Garcia, Wendy Rodriguez-Diaz, and Veronica Rodriguez; his brothers in law, nephews and nieces.

Jose was born in Holyoke on September 9, 1978 to loving parents; Jose A Rodriguez and Josefina Rodriguez.  He graduated from Dean Technical High School in 1996, where he was honored as the top Welder of his class.  Jose a.k.a “Chunky” was Holyoke’s traveling Barber.  On November 21, 2011 and October 4, 2012 respectively, he and his sweetheart, Estela Reyes, welcomed their two beautiful children, who were and forever will be the most important part of his life.

Jose was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend.  He enjoyed time with his children, family and doing what he did best, providing “Fresh” haircuts.  He was loyal, funny, loving, and admired by many.  He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.  He had a laughter that was contagious and a Heart of Gold.  Jose will forever live in our Hearts!
