It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Joyce Marie Fournier. She passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born and raised in Holyoke, Massachusetts, the cherished daughter of Vincent Krasinski and Rita (Phelan) Krasinski and devoted wife of the late Douglas A. Fournier.

In 1975, she began her long career as a cook at Holyoke High School, where she quickly became a beloved figure among students and staff alike. Her warm smile, generous heart, and unforgettable home-cooked meals left a lasting impression on generations of students, many of whom still remember her kindness.

Joyce was a woman of quiet strength, deep love, and endless creativity. An avid reader, she found joy and escape in books throughout her life. She was a gifted crafter, always working with her hands to make something meaningful. It was in the kitchen where Joyce truly shined. Cooking was her way of caring, and her home was always filled with warmth, love and the delicious smells of something baking in the oven.

Joyce’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to David Fournier, Thomas Fournier (Rachel Fournier), and Laura Mazza (Jim Mazza) and a loving grandmother to Brittney Bailey (Tate Bailey), Jeffrey Fournier, T.J. Fournier, Eric Fournier, Jimmy Mazza, Michael Mazza, and Alyssa Mazza and great-grandmother to Lilliana and Jonathan Bailey. Her home was a haven for all, and her love was unconditional and unwavering. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and cherished family traditions that will live on through those who loved her. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Phyllis (Fournier) and George Kidd as well as many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday July 21, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, with a prayer service to begin at 11:00am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to ASPCA.
