Juan E. "Henry" Flores Obituary
Juan “Henry” Enrique Flores, 64, of Holyoke, Massachusetts, was called home to the Lord on November 22, 2025. Born on June 30, 1961, in Juncos, Puerto Rico, to Julio and Carmen Flores, Juan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Antonia De Hoyos Flores; his son, Juan E. Flores Jr., and wife Ashlee of Ludlow; and his daughter, Antonia I. Dones, and her husband Jose of West Springfield. He also leaves behind his greatest joy and blessing —his grandchildren: Arianna Santiago, Natalee Santiago, Jacob Santiago, Adrianna Dones, Josean Dones, Gabriel Dones, Savanna Flores, Jaxon Flores, and Mason Flores.
Juan is also survived by his dear siblings: Luis Flores of West Springfield, Brenda Flores of Springfield, Ruth Flores of Chicopee, Carmen Flores of Florida, Mayra Flores of Holyoke, and Julio Flores of Connecticut. He was predeceased by his beloved parents and by his sister, Lucy Rodrigues of Holyoke. He also leaves behind many adored nieces and nephews.
In his early years, Juan earned a degree in computer science from Holyoke Community College. He met the love of his life in Holyoke, 1981, in his father’s church, and together they built a beautiful life and family in Holyoke. Steadfast in his beliefs, Juan was a committed, lifelong learner of his Faith until the end of his days.
In his later years, Juan found peace in his garden, nurturing the flowers and vegetables he generously shared with others. He enjoyed cooking for his family and spent years perfecting his homemade hot sauce. In the evening, he could often be found on his front porch listening to music, singing along with his favorite bands. He had an eclectic taste in music, a passion he eagerly passed down to his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and anyone else who would lend an ear.
Above all, Juan cherished his grandchildren. They were the lights of his life, and he was always ready with a joke, a warm hug, or a small treasure meant just for them. He was, and always will be, their proud Papa.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 26, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street in Holyoke, followed by a brief service and burial at Forestdale West Cemetery.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21
