Kathleen (Batchelor) Greaney

HOLYOKE:  Kathleen “Kathy” (Batchelor) Greaney, age 67, passed away suddenly on Christmas Day, December 25, 2020.  Born in Holyoke, MA on April 1, 1953, Kathy was the daughter of the late James and Marilyn “Bunny” Batchelor.  She was educated in the Holyoke Public School System where she later worked as a para-professional and librarian.  Kathy was also a long time employee of Stop & Shop.  She was kind and generous, always offering to help others.  She enjoyed playing cards with her friends Linda and the Debbies.  Kathy loved her scratch tickets and KENO, a good Manhattan, any type of candle, watching movies and her tchotchkes, but most of all she loved to tag sale. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James “Jim” Greaney and her sister Christine “Chrissie” Batchelor.  Kathy is survived by her loving daughter, Meghan, two brothers, Steven of NY and Jim of CA. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, Melissa, Devin, Liz, Jill, Jack, Claire, Jerry, and Merideth; two sisters-in-law, Linda Greaney of West Springfield and Catherine Lyons of Holyoke, and a brother-in-law Wallace “Wally” Greaney of Holyoke. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 10:00am in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St. Burial is private.  Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 8:30 to 10:00am.
