Kathleen Lee Obituary
Kathleen Barnes was born on August 30, 1931 in Ilford England. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Wiilliam Barnes and Late Ethel Winifred Barnes. She grew up during the WWII years. Everyone called her “Kay.” She was a devoted caretaker to her ailing parents over a long period. When they both passed, she was still a teenager. She was left as the sole provider of her younger brother Ron. In 1950, Kay with her late husband Walter Huffell came to America. They migrated from England to find greener pastures in a new land. They landed in California, and in 1964 their daughter Susan was born. Kay worked as a secretary at many different firms and volunteered her time as a candy striper at local hospitals and was a Girl Scout leader. In 1988, Kay married WWII veteran, Albert “Al” Lee. They lived happily in Easthampton in a beautiful home and 17 years at Day Brook Village. They were married for 23 years until the passing of Al. In life, Kay will be remembered as a warm and caring person to her friends and loving to her family. On this sad day of her passing, March 11, 2025, she is survived by those who loved her most and remember her as she was. Beloved mother of Susan (Robert). Beloved Nana of Michelle (Christopher) and Jennifer (Brandon). Beloved great grandmother of Jillian Mae. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00pm in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 15th at 11:00am in the Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne New York. Burial will follow. Always Remembered. Forever in Our Hearts. Rest in Peace
